How to cancel Freeletics

Checked on 4 October 2026

Want to end your membership with Freeletics? This guide shows where to cancel, which rules may apply where you live and what to watch out for so your cancellation is received.

We checked the cancellation link on 4 October 2026. It comes from the provider catalogue that the Steadycost app also uses.

The quickest way to cancel

  1. Open the cancellation page for Freeletics: help.freeletics.com. Depending on the provider, this is a form, a cancel option in your account or a help page that describes the steps.
  2. Sign in if the page asks you to, and go through every step to the end. Don’t stop before the final confirmation.
  3. Save the confirmation as a PDF or a screenshot. It is your proof if anything is disputed later.
  4. If no confirmation arrives within a few days, send the same cancellation by email or letter. The template is further down this page.

You can also subscribe to Freeletics through the App Store or Google Play. If you pay there, you cancel in the subscription settings of your Apple or Google account, not with Freeletics. Cancelling with the service alone is then not enough.

If you subscribed in the app, check first where you pay: through the provider’s website, through Apple or through Google. You cancel where you pay.

Notice period and minimum term

Our catalogue has no specific information on the notice period or minimum term at Freeletics. Your own terms are in your account, your order confirmation or the terms and conditions. Below are the general rules in the EU and the UK, with links to the national rules.

Whatever your country, your own terms come first in practice: the minimum term, the notice period and the renewal date are usually in your account, your order confirmation or the terms and conditions. Check them before you cancel.

Notice periods depend on the law of the country you live in and on your contract, so there is no single answer for every reader. This site has detailed guides for Germany, the Netherlands, France and Spain, with the rules that apply there.

In short: in Germany, contracts concluded since 1 March 2022 may require at most one month’s notice and can be cancelled monthly after the first term (§ 309 No. 9 BGB). In the Netherlands, after a tacit extension you can cancel at any time with at most one month’s notice (Art. 6:236 (j) Dutch Civil Code); newspaper and magazine subscriptions may instead renew for up to three months at a time (Art. 6:236 (p) and (q)). In France, the provider must remind you of the renewal deadline (loi Chatel), and contracts concluded online must be cancellable online. In Spain, you can end a contract the same way you entered it, without penalties (Art. 62 of the Spanish consumer law).

If you signed up online or by phone, you can usually withdraw within 14 days without giving a reason. In the EU this comes from the Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 9); in the UK from the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Special cancellation rights

  • Withdrawal in the first 14 days: Contracts concluded online or by phone can usually be withdrawn within 14 days without a reason (Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 9; in the UK the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Withdrawing is not the same as cancelling: it undoes the contract. Under the EU directive, the right can end earlier for digital content and services that start straight away with your consent.

Common pitfalls

  • Paid through Apple or Google? Subscriptions bought through Apple or Google are cancelled in the subscription settings of that account, not with the service itself. Deleting the app does not cancel anything.
  • Trial periods: A trial often turns into a paid plan automatically. Cancel before it ends.
  • Prepaid plans: If you paid for several months or a year in advance, cancelling usually only stops the next renewal.
  • Pauses: If your contract allows a pause, it can move the end date back. Check the new end date.
  • Keep paying until the end: Stopping payments early can lead to fees and reminders, even when the cancellation is valid.

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel Freeletics?

Cancel where you pay. If you pay Freeletics directly, use the cancellation page. If you pay through Apple or Google, cancel in that account’s subscription settings.

Does deleting the Freeletics app cancel my subscription?

No. Deleting an app does not end a subscription. You need to cancel it where you pay for it.

Can I get my money back?

If you signed up online within the last 14 days, you can usually withdraw. For digital services that started straight away with your consent, that right can end earlier. Otherwise the provider’s terms decide.
